Help a Rider!
For some reason I come across this forum thread on a ST1100 community site. ST1100 is a motorbike brand, and apparently has quite a following in the US.
One of the forum members, Richard from Clovis, California was diagnosed with cancer. To survive he has to scrap every bit of money he can, so he decided to sell his bike. Hence the forum thread.
And here’s when something wonderful happened. The remaining forum members got together and started a donation drive for Richard so that he could keep his bike and continue his treatment. They came up with a couple of ways to collect the donation, but had trouble with setting up a Paypal donation button, hence I decided to chip with some money on my own and to set up this page.
Here’s something written by Richard when he found out what the ST1100 riders are doing:
“I want to start out by saying the folks at St1100 are fantastic. I had decided that I couldn’t rid my motorcycle and needed to sell it. A large group of them said heh! don’t sell your bike we want you to keep it. You have so many memories don’t give it up. They contacted me and within 2 days there have been over 25 individuals mostly all honda ST1100 riders who have contirbuted money to me hopefull to keep the bike and get through the cancer. They feel that most riders recover quite well and continue riding beyond their treatment. I am totally blown away. I have received emails from all over the country form members who contribute and give word of prayer and encouragement for me. Once again I am brought to tears because of the vast number of people who I have a small connection with want me to continue to enjoy something I love but thought I would have to give up. Thank you so much Honda ST1100 riders. This is really mindblowing!!”
So if you feel his pain and want to help out, simply use this donation button and help in whatever way you can. God bless you!
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is my way of helping out, and in no way I am related to Richard and the guys at the forum. I am not even a ST1100 bike rider, had little interest in bikes, but… I decided to do a good deed, and stepped up to do more. Whatever you donate goes directly to Noel, one of the forum members who is coordinating this entire campaign (and nothing will go to me). If you do not trust me, you can always go to the forum for alternative ways to donate, or if you do not trust these guys at all, please, just leave this site. To all, thank you for visiting
